The NBL took a huge leap forward last year when it announced it was launching NBL.Tv, which finally gave NBL fans the chance to watch every game of the NBL season. For those reporting on the game (i.e. me), it meant we could watch our teams regardless of where they were playing and offered a far better sample size on which to judge their performance.
Admittedly, NBL.tv did have some teething problems but overall it provided excellent coverage and gave fans a great chance to not only watch any game that interested them, it also offered highlights coverage and video on demand across web, mobile and tablet. Social Media was full of praise from fans and players last night on how good the stream quality was for the NZ/WOL game.
Word is that there will be some big improvements in 2013-2014, taking into account feedback from the fans last year. I am told this will include improved camera angles and the latest technology for adaptive streaming. Make sure you check out NBL.tv’s frequently asked questions to make sure you get the most out of your internet connection to ensure the quality of your live stream: http://www.nbl.tv/help Without a great internet connection the stream will always be compromised!
