So long? (Preview: 36ers v Taipans 9/3/13)

Tomorrow night the 36ers face off against Cairns in their last home game of their season. The Taipans have been Adelaide's "bunnies" so far this season, with Adelaide holding a 2-0 lead in the season series. The Sixers have managed to contain Jamar Wilson when it mattered and come up with big fourth quarters- something it has rarely done this season.

Adelaide will go into this game fresh and well rested, coming off a 9 day break. It's last game was a thrashing at the hands of New Zealand and the team should be keen to atone for that disaster. Cairns comes into Adelaide having taken it right up to the defending champs last night and will come in confident, knowing it is playing better ball of late, including a big win recently over Perth.

So who wins?

Cairns is in better form of late, but so are Adelaide if you don't count the Breakers game. Adelaide will be confident given it's recent form against Cairns and will surely be keen to farewell the home crowd with a big win in an otherwise disappointing year. The Taipans have a glimmer of hope that it can still make the playoffs and will be keen to win it's next two games (both against Adelaide) in it's late playoff run.

With the extra rest, it's good record against Cairns and the fact the game is at home I'm expecting the 36ers to come out with a win. With the game being likely Marty Clarke's last home game in charge I'm sure he'll want to go out with a good memory. Players Stephen Weigh, Scott Christopherson,Nathan Crosswell, Pero Vasiljevic, Tom Daly, Jan Warbout and Adam Gibson also potentially could be playing their last games in Adelaide. There's a lot on the line and I'm gonna back the boys.
