The Numbers: Adelaide vs Cairns (16/2/13)
That was Cairns' return rate from the three-point line. Grabau was the most successful, going 1/3. The rest of him team shot the following:
Those two worst offenders, Brad Hill and Shane Edwards, are both shooting under 30% from three this season, making it even more alarming that they chose to both take more threes than Aaron Grabau, who is shooting over 50% from range this year.
Adelaide wasn't much better, shooting just 5/15. Threes were important though, with the winning basket coming from a big Jason Cadee triple (2/3 for the match). Saturday's game added further to the riddle of Cadee's road shooting numbers. Cadee is now 18/39 from range on the road and 4/31 at home. Go figure! He's not alone with Adam Gibson and Anthony Petrie also shooting the three at a much better clip on the road.
Adelaide has often fallen in love with it's three point shooting but had a better balance Saturday night. Bigs Petrie and Johnson earned 17 points from the charity stripe, getting reward for their hard work inside. Peach and DJ only combined for three outside attempts, showing their smarts in working hard for their inside shots.
