12 Day Break

The 36ers are now on a 12 day break before their next game, a home clash with arch rivals Perth. Adelaide will be confident going into this game after two successive wins against the 'Cats but mustn't forget they are now down Ballinger and Crosswell. The last home game here was another story where Perth used us as witches hat for a training session. They were clinical. We were down Ballinger and Simpson that game, but they were without Matty Knight. Here's some stuff I hope the boys work on in prep for that game.............

-Full court press. Need to work on how to beat theirs and also how to run it against them. We've had some success with the trap in recent weeks and must use it against Perth.
-Zone. Perth aren't great from beyond the arc so I'd use some 2-1-2 or 2-3 against them.
-Offense. The team shared the ball well with 4 guys taking 8 or more shots but no-one with more than 14 attempts. We also scored our points off 21 assists, meaning over half our points were "created" by another player. We gave Simpson and Dj some good passes inside and fed Ng well. Key.

The next night we play the Tigers in Melbourne and get a chance at redemption. Melbourne were awful in our last match, fortunately for them we stunk it up more. That game was ours for most of the way but we tightened up in the 4th and let them score too easily. A lot of the above (press, zone D etc) can also be utilised against the Tigers. They are worse from the 3pt line and their bigs are the key to a win so if we make a zone and trap the emphasis over the remaining training sessions I reckon we could snatch 2 for the weekend.
