Herbie does it again

Is it just me or is Nathan Herbert the teams barometer? Have a look at his stats in the 36ers wins this year.

Rd 4 vs Perth- 4pts, 0 reb, 0 ast
Ok not a great example

Rd 7 vs Melbourne- 9pts, 4reb, 1 ast
In only 17 minutes. Had a big influence on both ends.

Rd 9 vs Perth- 13pts, 3 reb, 1 ast
Contributed the above in just 14 minutes and again was a key contributor.

Rd 11 vs Wollongong- 4pts, 7 reb, 1 ast
Played 20 in this one and had a significant impact helping on the boards and playing tough D

Rd 13 vs Sydney- 14pts, 7 reb, 3 ast
Great numbers for 22minutes of action. His rebounding again huge.

For the season he's avergaing 5.1pts, 2.9reb and 0.6ast
In the wins that goes up to 8.8pts, 4.2reb, 1.2 ast

Not huge numbers but his impact off the bench is measured not just by his numbers but by his tough D, ability to get under opponents skin and hit key shots. At the start of the year he seemed to be relegated to the 2nd backup PG but now has found an important role as first guard off the bench. Will be interesting to see if Herbert's influence and team wins continue to go hand-in-hand during our belated playoff run.
