Blaze, Bartlett and Ballinger Blues

So it's been a week since I've blogged but in that time here's all that's happened........

-The team signed Everard Bartlett to cover for Nathan Crosswell. Apparently he played a few good games for Perth covering for D-Mart and so we "pounced". Proof will be in the pudding. I'm not super excited about nabbing a guy who's been out of the league for 5 years and actually never played a game until this year.
-The team announced there's no-one out there as good as Ballinger so we'll give up searching. Brilliant.
-We took on the Blaze in the Gold Coast and got hammered.

I could have blogged about the Blaze game but seeing as all I did was follow a few live scores I didn't think I could give much insight. Yep, blogging about a game can be hard in a league where majority of games don't get covered by tv. I'll cover all the home games that I attend and any away games on tv but don't think I can offer much on the rest.

Coming up empty on a replacement for Ballinger is a major disappointment. Sounds like someone has conceded the season. Sadly I don't see this team winning too many more games, just not enough solid defensive guys and a very one-dimensional bench. Something must change unless management has already decided to end the Marty Clarke era at the end of the season and bring in Brett Maher as coach for the next title run.
